Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to accessibility
We want our application to be easy to use for everyone.
We are committed to making our application accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies or have visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive or other accessibility needs.
Accessibility is an important part of how we design, build and improve our application. We aim to make sure that people can access information, complete tasks and use our features regardless of how they interact with the application.
Our accessibility standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, known as WCAG 2.2, at Level AA.
These guidelines are internationally recognised standards for making websites and applications more accessible.
We continually review and improve our application as accessibility standards and best practices develop.
Using the application
We aim to make our application usable with:
- Keyboard navigation
- Screen readers
- Mouse and touch controls
- Browser zoom
- Mobile and tablet devices
- High contrast and accessibility settings
- Reduced motion settings
We also aim to ensure that important information is not communicated through colour alone.
Keyboard navigation
You should be able to use the main features of our application without needing a mouse.
Interactive controls such as buttons, links, menus, forms and dialogs should be accessible using the keyboard.
We also aim to provide clear and visible keyboard focus so that you can see where you are on the page.
Screen readers
We aim to make our application compatible with commonly used screen readers.
Information such as headings, navigation, buttons, forms, notifications and errors should be presented in a way that can be understood by assistive technologies.
Images that provide useful information should have appropriate alternative text.
Colour and contrast
We aim to use colours that provide sufficient contrast and make information easy to read.
We do not rely on colour alone to communicate important information.
For example, an item that requires attention should have a meaningful label or other visual indication rather than being identified only by its colour.
Text and readability
We aim to make our content clear and easy to understand.
Text should remain readable when browser zoom is increased.
Our application should remain usable when text is enlarged, and we aim to avoid unnecessary dense or complicated content.
Forms and errors
We aim to make forms as easy as possible to complete.
Form fields should have clear labels and instructions.
If something goes wrong, we aim to explain what happened and how you can correct it.
Errors should not be communicated through colour alone.
Where appropriate, information that you have already entered should be preserved so that you do not have to enter it again.
Mobile and touch devices
Our application is designed to work across a range of screen sizes and devices.
We aim to make buttons and other interactive controls large enough and easy enough to use on touch screens.
The application should also remain usable when the screen is enlarged or viewed at higher zoom levels.
Motion and animation
We aim to keep animation and movement to a minimum where it is not necessary.
Where possible, the application respects your device preference for reduced motion.
Accessibility testing
Accessibility is tested throughout the development of our application.
We use a combination of automated testing and manual testing.
Our testing includes keyboard navigation, screen readers, different screen sizes, browser zoom, colour contrast and other accessibility features.
We also test important user journeys to make sure that accessibility is maintained across the complete experience rather than just on individual pages.
Known accessibility issues
We are continually working to improve accessibility.
If you encounter an accessibility problem, please let us know. Some parts of the application may not yet provide the experience we want to achieve.
Reporting an issue helps us identify problems and improve the application for everyone.
Tell us about an accessibility problem
If you experience a problem using the application, please contact us.
Email hello@verikeep.co.uk, or if you are signed in, use the Contact link in the menu and choose An accessibility problem.
Our ongoing commitment
Accessibility is not something we consider once and then forget.
We will continue to review our application, monitor changes to accessibility standards and improve the experience as new features are introduced.
Our goal is to create an application that is straightforward, inclusive and usable for everyone.
